CHEERLEADING COMPETTION

ELIGIBILITY, Any student who is a menber of the 2007 - 20008 cheer squads may participate. Entry forms must  be besigned by coach or principal.

Classification. Squad will be divided into the following classification:
            Varsity - squad must consist of menbers grades 9 - 12 (2007-2008 school year) and may be combined school    sport squads.
            JR. VARISTY - Squads must consist of menbers grades 9-12 (2007-2008 school year) or Freashman squads.
            JR. HIGH - Squads must consist of menbers grades 7-8 (2007-2008 school year).
            PEE WEE - Squads that cheer for pee wee games.

There will be Dance and cheer divisions. Squads may enter both the dance and cheer divisions or more than one class. Schools may enter more than one squad in a class. A cheerleader on a competition squad may also perform with a school squad.

SAFTY. The overall safty of each squad will be evaluated by the judges at all times. The uae of mini tramps, knee drops, slam splits, and toe pitches are NOT permitted. PYRAMIDS AND MOUNTS ARE PROHIBITED. Individuals may not stand on another's shoulders or support another individual in any type of mount.Any squad doing mounts as part of its routine  will be disqualified. Foot protecton must be worn during all performances.

PERFORMANCE AREA, The perfromance area will be a 42 ft. x 42 ft. floor set on grass. Facing the performance area, you will enter from the left and exit to the right. Tumblers may begin off the floor if they need to, otherwise cheerleaders must say on the 42 ft. x 42 ft. area.

ROUTINE AND TIME, Dance division must consist of all music and no cheers. Cheer division may consist of entrance, chans, cheers, dance(may not exceed 11/2 minutes) and exit. Routine have a maximun (no mimimum) limit of 4 minutes. iming starts when the first contestant enters the performance area, or first motion or word us spoken by the squad after thier name has been called to perform. Props may may be placed on the stage before the squad is anounced. Entrance and exit will be included in the 4 minutes. This means timing will not stop when the last piece of equipment has been removed or the last contestant has left the the stage area. there will be a penalty of 1 point for each seond past the time limit (from 1 judge only). Poms, signs, and other appropriate props encouraged.

JUDGING AND SCORING, There will be at least 3 qualified judges for this competition. The total score of all judges added together will determine the final places. The total possible pionts from each judge will be 100. The basis for judging will be shown onthe score sheet in this brochure. All divisions will be judged seperately and the decision of the judges are final.

WINNERS AND AWARDS, Placings of the top three squads in each division will be announced as soon as the contest scoring can be tabulated. All awards will be presented at this time. Your score sheets will be available.

FAIR ADMISSION, Cheerleaders and Advisor's must pay regular gate admission.

MUSIC, All music must be on cassette or CD and taken to the music table when the squad arrives at the conpetition and checks in. Music must be cued and ready to play.
Pltase bring a backup tape or CD.

GENERAL, Squads will be advised of their apppearance order and time with the final instruction letter. A representative from each squad must register one half hour prior to their perfromance time. Appearance order may be advanced and suads must be ready to perfrom if called early. Squads not appearing when called will be moved to the end of the division and assesseda 25 piont penalty.
