Judging will be in accordance with the Ohio Association of Garden Clubs, Inc. (OAGC) Exhibitors & Judges Handbook, revised edition 2003 by an accredited OAGC Judge.  The Judge’s decision will be final with oral judging to the exhibitors.  The Floral Hall Flower Show section will be closed to the public during judging with the exception of participating exhibitors and the Garden Club Committee.  The Brown County Agricultural Society will/ shall not be responsible for loss/ damage of any type to items in such thereof at this show.

RULES:
1.   Artistic design class is open to all amateur gardeners who purchase a season or membership ticket.
2.   Entries will be taken September 13, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the Fairgrounds Administration Secretary’s Office, by mail until Sept. 10, or by phone until Sept.19.  Please refer to the Floral Hall Entry Form for further information.
3.  The walk-thru gate will be open Thursday morning, September 25, for Artistic entries from 9 – 11 a.m.  Exhibitors may drive in and park to unload, but must move their cars after unloading.
4.   Judging will begin after 12:00 noon with only the judges, clerks, exhibitors and members of the garden club committee in charge permitted for the oral judging.  This area will be closed to all other visitors until placement of ribbons and photos.
5.   Materials used may be obtained from any source unless designated so in said schedule.
6.   Plant materials used may be interpreted as fresh and/ or dried flowers, foliage, branches, vines, fruits, roots, nuts, vegetables, berried plants, grains, and grasses.  All artistic designs must include plant material.
7.   Dried materials (natural, treated, or colored) may be used in any artistic arrangement that is designated as a dried arrangement.  No artificial material such as silk or plastic will be permitted in any class.
8.   Coloring of any fresh material is strictly prohibited.
9.   Entries may not be removed until Sunday, October 1, 2006.
10.Accessories are permitted in all classes with the exception of backgrounds.  Containers and other accessories should be marked with the name of the exhibitor in a concealed place.  No visible tags, tickets, or markings should be placed within the arrangement; but should be displayed with the arrangement for identification during and after judging; then for the conclusion of the exhibition in the Floral Hall.
HORTICULTURAL (SPECIMEN) DIVISION RULES
Premiums  $1.75  $1.50 – Third place and Honorable Mention Ribbons
1.   Horticulture (specimen) entries are open to all Brown County residents who purchase a Season or Membership Ticket, and must have been grown by that exhibitor or in their possession for the prior 90 days.
2.   Entries will be take Sept. 13, 2008 at the Fairgrounds Administration Secretary’s Office from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., by mail until Sept. 10, or by phone until Sept. 19.  Please refer to the Floral Hall Entry Form for further information.
3.   The walk-thru gate will be open Tuesday, September 23, 2008 from 9 – 11 a.m.  Exhibitors may drive in and park to unload, but must move their vehicles after unloading.
4.   Judging will begin after 12:30 p.m. with only the judges, clerks, exhibitors, and members of the garden club committee in charge permitted for the oral judging.  This area will be closed to all other visitors until placement of ribbons and photos.
5.   Horticulture exhibits may be removed on Wednesday evening: or left in place until wilted.  They may then be removed by the exhibitor or the committee.  Containers will be removed to a designated spot.
6.   Potted plants may be brought to the Floral Hall on Sunday, September 21, 2008 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.  Potted plants must be displayed in clean containers and must be “pest and disease free”.  Said containers shall be no more than 12” in diameter; any that exceed this will be “for display only” and exempt from judging.
7.   Entries must be labeled with botanical and common name on the entry tag.
8.   Entry tags should be securely fastened to the container.
9.  Entries are limited to one entry per exhibitor per class.
